Embassy of Kingdom of the Netherlands in Abu Dhabi and Consulate General in Dubai issues the Netherlands/Schengen visas in UAE. Embassy in Abu Dhabi caters ‘only’ to UAE nationals while Consulate in Dubai takes applications from all other UAE residents.
Visa application process consists of 4 stages, partly paper-based and partly Online:
- Download and fill the Visa Application Form from the Embassy website. This is a paper-based application.
- Schedule an Online appointment for the in-person submission of the application.
- Visit Embassy/Consulate on the day of your appointment and submit your Application Form along with your passport and other required documents (usually a letter from the company, 3 months bank statement, hotel and air ticket reservations plus travel insurance).
- Pay applicable fee and finally choose whether you would like to collect your documents in person or have it delivered to you by courier.
Please note, once the passport is submitted, you will not be able to withdraw the passport till the decision is made about your visa.
Tourist visas are generally issued for 6 months. Authorities will issue you a Schengen visa which will entitle you to enter all Schengen states, however in this case; your first point of entry or longest stay during your trip must be in Netherlands.Usually, visas are issued between 10 to 15 days however it can take longer depending on season and special cases. It is highly recommended that you apply with sufficient time in your hand.
There is no defined criteria on how much money you should have in your bank account to apply for a visa, however, as long as your bank statements indicate that you are financially comfortable and have enough money to travel and take care of yourself in case of any medical or other contingencies, you are good to go.
