What is a Transit Visa?

A Transit Visa is a temporary, short term visa issued during your journey. Some countries require that you have a stop over of minimum of 24 hours to grant you a transit visa. A transit visa is requried when your stay at a particular airport exceeds the ‘visa-free’ permissible time or when you wish to leave the aiport and explore city for a short period of time (it could be anything from 24 hours to more) and return back to that airport and continue on your onward journey.

Do I need a visa to transit through Dubai Airport?
At Dubai Airport, transit passengers only go through a security check and NOT an immigration or visa check and so as long as your scheduled departure of the second flight is within 24 hours of your arrival in Dubai, you do not need a visa.

What is Transit Visa in Dubai?
A transit visa is a 96 hours visa issued to passengers arriving at UAE airport (particularly Dubai) through any international airline. Previously, such a visa was given only to passengers flying on UAE airlines.

With 96 hours Transit Visa in your hand, you will be able to explore and enjoy Dubai at the best.
