Expedia Reviews:

Expedia.com is one of the oldest travel company initially launched by Microsoft back in 1996.

Currently, Expedia has about 31 ‘country-specific’ websites and perhaps offers the largest travel booking options available anywhere in the industry. It has Flights, Hotels, Flight+Hotel, Cars, Cruises and Things To Do right at their homepage.

Cheap Flights:

Homepage of Expedia.com (vs their country specific sites) has extensive options and links under ‘Trip Planning’ and ‘Explore More’ tags which one might need to unchecked to enjoy more cleaner interface. Prices are displayed in USD.

The user interface of country-specific sites are far more simpler and prices are displayed in the currency of that country. Layout also has Deals and Points offers on homepage.

There are plenty of options to find Cheap Flights by trying out their Today’s Deal, Escape Sale and Member Pricing. Expedia claims you can save more by combining fights with hotels and cars as well.

One of the greatest features of Expedia is the ‘Scratchpad’ on their homepage. Scratchpad basically keeps a complete record of all the searches you have conducted so you don’t need to jot it down. You can revisit your search history and access it from different devices as well.

Other great features include free cancellation within 24 hours of booking and hotel discount offers for your trip. It also conveys a ‘Good News’ if the price of your chosen flight drops so you end-up paying less at the end.

Once again, unlike any other sites, Expedia gives you a ‘Travel Alert’ about your destination city in case of uncertainties. During my search from Expedia Australia and UK, I got the Travel Alerts on Tunisia and Bangkok which was relevant for August 2015.

Search results can be viewed in ‘Flight by Flight’ or ‘Complete trip’ styles. Search filters like Stops, Airlines, Departure/Arrival Time are just industry standard. I didn’t find layover filter which is kinda downer.

Things I didn’t like about Expedia are:

  • Search result pages are very heavily loaded with sponsored Ads, making results looks very cluttered and annoying.
  • Summary of old searches are unnecessarily displayed on the left side of the result screen while they are already available in Scratchpad.

Overall a Expedia is a popular booking site with good possibility of finding some good prices.
