Today India celebrates ‘Holi‘. The most colorful festival of all. For Indians, its part of life and for foreign tourists its a travel inspiration they crave to experience at least once in their lifetime. Holi is one of the most iconic Hindu Spring festivals of India and also celebrated in Nepal and Bangladesh. Beside its traditional name, it is also known as ‘Festival of Colors’ and the ‘Festival of Love’. It is a 2 day festival, usually falls between end of February and middle of March every year.
This festival started as an ancient Hindu religious festival but gained its popularity among non-Hindus around many parts of Asia and the world for its unique custom of greeting each and playing with colors.
While colors remain the main ingredient of the festival, Holi is celebrated in many different styles all across India.
For international travelers visiting first time to India, Holi could be one of the most mesmerizing experiences of all times.
